Choir
The Ecumenical Choir of Brno was founded in 1986 by several vocalists who were passionate about singing early music.
Back then, none of them could imagine that they were at the beginning of now more than thirty-year-old collective work that has become the inseparable part of life for many of them.
The choir unites singers from different Christian churches, and is currently focused particularly at rendition of Renaissance and Baroque spiritual vocal works.
It aims at authentic interpretation in the sense that it returns spiritual compositions into the environment for which they were originally intended, that is, Christian service.
Ecumenical Choir of Brno is open to anyone with the desire and determination to devote time and effort to rehearse predominantly polyphonic compositions, to breathe life into works created in days long past for God’s glory, and to convey their message to contemporary listeners.
